CLS stands for “Collect, Label & Store”, and consists of two different products. First, a series of Toshiba pa3399u 1brs between 250 and 640 gigabytes, and a USB hub in which to dock them. It is indeed everything. The idea is that you can get a whole bunch of disks with different types of content per disk and quickly switch between them – movies on one, music on another, backup software on a third, for example. Or maybe a disk per family member.
Good disk labeling and storage
For disks may then be labels in different colors that it attaches neatly under a plastic flap on the side, and a sturdy box with space for detailed contents. The is also a mini-USB cable if you want to bring the disk and connect to another computer that equipped with HP pavilion dv5000 battery. Prefect Pade to line up on the shelf at your desk, and to pack in your bag and take with you.
The dock can accommodate three disks in this format, and there is also a standard USB port on the side where you can connect other optional USB dskar. You also need to connect to a power outlet to run more than one device at a time.
The actual hard drive is a Compaq HP nc6120 battery that is of good quality, and we measured no unevenness in performance. 33 MB per second for reading and a bit less when writing is fine for a USB-connected hard drive. The only negative with the disk is that it hums a little more than most we’ve tested. Freecom chassis is a complete rubber cover that provides some shock protection, even if the disk is not among the most durable.
More and less successful programs
On the counter is there a manual and Dell vostro 1400 battery for Windows and Mac. Here we find Nero BackItUp, a redigt backup program with basic functions such as file copy, backup device and directory synchronization, and an option to burn recovery discs. Formatter is a small but easy to use program to format the disk, especially good for those who do not have very good track of such things.
Finally, we have Green Button, a program that will save power by turning off drives when not in use. And they do it certainly with the connected the Freecom drive, but it causes problems with other attached volumes. A USB stick with Flash began to lose touch with our test computer which use a Dell inspiron 15 battery as the power, and did not fuss until Green Button was uninstalled.
This little gaffe despite we like Freecom CLS, both disks and dock. Used correctly they can give a lot of order and clarity to a user’s information chaos. Around 800 dollars for a 250-gigabyte disk is approved, but far from the cheapest on the market. We tested the Apple macbook pro 15 inch battery before the sales start, so we should not completely rely on the stores’ advertised prices.
